About the ITC

The International Transporter Consortium (ITC) is organizing a second workshop (ITCW2; March 12 and 13, 2012) cosponsored by ASCPT which will precede the ASCPT Annual Meeting (see link below). The goals of will be focused on the current status of transporters with emphasis on the role of multiple transporters in Pharmaceutical Research and Development with a specific focus on potential clinical impact.  As with the first workshop, and captured in the subsequent white paper (Nature Reviews Drug Discovery 9, p215 (2010), the perspectives of Academia, Industry and Regulators will be presented.  Expanding on the original white paper, and in response to requests from the scientific community, ITCW2 will include more contributions from Europe and Asia.  Sessions will include updates on current status, consideration of additional transporters such as MRP, OST, MATE and BSEP, tools and techniques, as well as experiences related to responses to the first white paper from industry and regulators (FDA, EMA and PMDA).
