What is different about the 2017 annual meeting?
Our 2017 meeting will offer expanded options for learning and networking, including outstanding Pre-conference events. In addition to expanding the volume and variety of our content options this year, we are also offering more targeted content – a result of changes we have made to our meeting planning process. Here are just a few of the changes for next year:
A longer Opening Reception
on Wednesday, March 15, 4:00 – 6:30 pm, with the Opening Session to be held on the morning of Thursday, March 16. The Opening Reception will feature posters, poster walks, the Presidential Trainee Awards, and other opportunities for scientific exchange.
The Innovation Forum
, where you will hear the latest highlights in bioscience and clinical pharmacology through compelling talks that bring together elements from therapeutics, translational science, regulatory and global healthcare concerns in an entertaining and dynamic format.
: Members of the ASCPT Board will lead you through select exhibits inside the Exhibit Hall.
A Special Session on First in Human Studies
for Thursday and Friday provided by ASCPT that can be used at any food outlet within the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel.
Network and Community meetings
Why will events be in two hotels?
With meeting space at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel devoted to the full ASCPT Annual Meeting, the Society has secured space, inclusive of sleeping rooms, at the Omni Shoreham Hotel so that we can offer more content through next year’s expanded events.
Why can’t I stay in just one hotel?
Sleeping rooms available at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel will be limited to the full conference dates, so ASCPT has secured a block of rooms at the Omni Shoreham Hotel for our attendees of the ITCW3 Pre-conference. As a thank you for transitioning to the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel as of Wednesday, March 15, 2017, ASCPT will offer a discount on the total cost of registration for attendees who register for the ITCW3 Pre-conference and stay at the Omni Shoreham Hotel and transition to the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel for the full ASCPT Annual Meeting as of Wednesday, March 15. This combo discount does not apply to any student/trainee registration categories.
Which hotel should I stay in?
Our goal is to make the registration process for the Pre-conference and full conference as seamless and easy as possible. See the map above for concise information on which hotel to stay at for all of our events.
When should I make my hotel reservations?
It is extremely important to make your hotel reservations early this year, as demand for rooms is high in Washington, DC, and we expect good attendance at the meeting. Housing links will be made available to you after you complete the registration process.
Why is the meeting starting on a Thursday morning instead of a Wednesday afternoon?
The 2017 Meeting will offer more content through our Pre-conference events, which will be held Monday, March 13 through Wednesday, March 15. ASCPT’s goal is to enable our attendees to participate in these Pre-conference offerings, and therefore the full ASCPT conference will kick-off on Wednesday afternoon with the Opening Reception, which will feature posters, poster walks, the Presidential Trainee Awards, and other opportunities for scientific exchange. Scientific sessions will start on Thursday morning.
How do I get a discount on registration fees?
Individuals who register for the full ASCPT Annual Meeting and for the ITCW3 Pre-conference, and reserve rooms within the ASCPT rooming blocks at the Omni Shoreham Hotel for the ITCW3 Pre-conference and the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel beginning the Wednesday of the meeting, will receive a substantial discount. The combo discount does not apply to students/trainee registration categories.
Registrants who join ASCPT after completing their Annual Meeting registration will be subject to an additional $50 USD processing fee to update their registration status.
Can I Attend the CPIC Pre-Conference Without Attending the Full ASCPT Annual Meeting?
Absolutely! Registration for the CPIC Pre-Conference is available to any individual who wishes to attend, even if you will not attend the full ASCPT Annual Meeting.
