ASCPT Young Investigator Award


The Young Investigator Award is intended to support a fellow or junior faculty member in clinical pharmacology or a related field who is engaged in clinical/translational research. ASCPT broadly defines clinical research as investigation in clinical pharmacology that is hypothesis-driven and focused on drug discovery and molecular research, drug development, drug action and disposition, clinical trials, regulatory sciences, therapeutics and outcomes research. ASCPT selected the top fellow and the top junior faculty proposal submitted for the 2011 Young Investigator Award:


Laura J. Wozniak, MD, is a trainee in the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles. Her proposal is entitled “Development of Immune Profiles as Tools for Individualization of Immunosuppression in Pediatric Live Transplant Recipients.”  



Landry Kamdem Kamdem, PharmD, PhD is a first year faculty member at the Harding University College of Pharmacy in Searcy, Arkanas. His proposal is entitled "The Impact of UGT2B17 Genetic Polymorphisms on the Disposition and Action of Exemestane in Healthy Volunteers."





Drs. Wozniak and Kamdem were recognized at the 2012 ASCPT Annual Meeting.

The grant is for a one-year period, from July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2012. Amgen provided support for one YIA award in the form of an educational donation. ASCPT has provided support for the second YIA award.
