New Metric in Scholarly Publishing

CiteScoreTM is a metric developed by Elsevier from the Scopus® database of over 22,000 peer-reviewed journals, book series, conference proceedings, and trade publications, across 330 disciplines. CPT: Pharmacometrics & Systems Pharmacology's 2016 CiteScore, released in June this year, is 3.43. This score is derived from the number of citations in 2016 to papers published in 2015, 2014, and 2013, divided by the total number of documents published in the journal during those 3 years.

Unlike the Impact Factor (Clarivate Analytics, formerly Thomson-Reuter) calculation, CiteScore counts all articles regardless of type in the denominator, including letters, commentaries, and brief pieces. For journals like PSP that publish predominantly research and review papers, the CiteScore tracks very closely with the Impact Factor. The addition of a third year gives research more time to be cited. Visit Elsevier for more information about CiteScore.
