What is CPT's policy on NIH Open Access?
In compliance with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Open Access Policy, ASCPT grants limited copyright release to authors who have received funding for research (on which the article is based) from the NIH to deposit the accepted paper into PubMed Central. It remains the legal responsibility of the author(s) to deposit the final, peer-reviewed paper, to be made publicly available no sooner than 12 months after the official date of publication.

Does CPT offer an Open Access option?
CPT now offers authors the option to publish their articles with immediate open access upon publication. Open access articles will also be deposited on PubMed Central at the time of publication and will be freely available immediately. Find out more from our FAQs page.

When is CPT published?
CPT prints 12 issues a year, on a monthly basis. The Annual Meeting Abstract Supplement is published each spring. All issues are also published online in advance of print publication (AOP).

What should I do if I do not receive my monthly copy of CPT?

All ASCPT members receive a hardcopy of Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics each month as part of their membership.  ASCPT members who have not received their hardcopy should contact the CPT editorial office at cpt@ascpt.org immediately. Although ASCPT will make every effort to ensure delivery of future issues of the journal, we are unable to provide back issues for more than two months of the journal. All members have access to the online version of Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics through www.ascpt.org.


How do I order reprints of CPT articles?
Nature Publishing Group offers a range of reprint and permissions services for authors, readers, writers and commercial companies. Learn more about Reprints.

To order a single copy of a paper published prior to 1980, contact the CPT Editorial Office at cpt@ascpt.org. A $35 charge applies to each article request.

Can I read articles online before the print version is available? 
Advance Online Publications (AOP) are new, peer-reviewed articles that have been accepted for publication in CPT, but have not yet printed in the journal. AOP papers are published online every Wednesday.

What are the benefits of an online subscription?
As an ASCPT member or registered user of CPT online, you can track articles of interest or save relevant searches for future reference. You can also sign up to receive E-mail Alerts that include current tables of content and citations. ASCPT members and registered users have access to online archives dating back to 1980.
