ASCPT Announces New Journal
The American Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics (ASCPT) is pleased to announce the launch of a new, open access journal, CPT: Pharmacometrics & Systems Pharmacology (CPT:PSP). The journal will be published by Nature Publishing Group and will provide a unique international forum for scientists in the pharmacometrics and systems pharmacology space.
CPT:PSP is a timely online-only, cross-disciplinary journal devoted to publishing advances in quantitative methods as applied in pharmacology, physiology, and therapeutics in humans. The scope of the journal will span pharmacometrics and systems pharmacology. The full scope of the journal will be available in the CPT:PSP Guide to Authors. The common focus of the journal will be on quantitative methods that improve our understanding of pharmacology and therapeutics in humans.
The fully open access format of the journal, supported by an Article Processing Charge, means that all articles will be made freely available for all to read immediately upon publication. In addition, articles will publish under the Creative Commons License, enabling readers to download the article and share it with others. This platform will allow for and encourage open discourse on published works.
A Steering and Search Committee has been appointed and will be chaired by Peter Honig, MD, MPH, and includes Committee members Kim Brouwer, PharmD, PhD; Atul Butte, MD, PhD; David D'Argenio, PhD; Kathleen Giacomini, PhD; Joga Gobburu, PhD; Richard Lalonde, PharmD; France Mentré, PhD; Marc Pfister, MD; Malcolm Rowland, DSc, PhD; Andre Terzic, MD, PhD; and Scott Waldman, MD, PhD.
Recruitment is under way for an Editor-in-Chief who will be a well-published scientist with considerable clinical research experience. The Editor-in-Chief, along with the journal's editors, will make decisions on submitted papers independently of other ASCPT journals.
CPT:PSP will officially launch in the Summer of 2012 with the first issue expected to publish in the Fall of 2012.
