Member of the Month
The ASCPT Member of the Month is a forum to recognize and thank a member of ASCPT who has supported the Society's endeavors. Each month, ASCPT highlights one member who has gone above and beyond the call of duty! We also highlight the Member of the Month, along with two other members, in each issue of
Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics. We hope you will enjoy learning about fellow members and as always, encourage your participation in Society events and activities.
Keith D. Wilner, PhD: September Member of the Month

|
ASCPT is proud to recognize Keith D. Wilner, PhD, as the September Member of the Month.
Dr. Wilner is the Senior Director of Clinical Research at Pfizer Global Research and Development in San Diego, CA.
He has served the Society in many volunteer roles, including Chair of the Scientific Program Committee and as a recently appointed Board Member. His volunteer service has enhanced his knowledge across a variety of therapeutic areas, such as novel designs of drug-drug interaction studies and has allowed him to meet and network with colleagues with whom he has been able to rely on for general guidance on clinical issues in day-to-day work as well as in his involvement to advance ASCPT.
Because he sees clinical pharmacology as a bridging discipline, he has strongly supported the selection of key opinion leaders at the Annual Meeting and has tried to engage younger members with ASCPT activities. He believes these actions will continue to keep clinical pharmacology on the forefront in the eyes of other organizations, as well as give ASCPT members fresh perspectives applicable to all therapeutic areas.
He sees the field having diversified over the past 20 years; however, new ideas/technologies have been slowly accepted. He believes that the FDA stagnation/innovation white paper was an important wake-up call and the field has responded with innovative study designs to better address go/no go decision points in early clinical studies. In the current environment, he believes the biggest challenge is to ensure that clinical pharmacology remains as an independent specialty.
Thank you, Keith, for your valuable leadership and continued commitment to ASCPT and the discipline of clinical pharmacology!
