Molecular Pharmacology and Pharmacogenetics (MOL) Scientific Section
The Molecular Pharmacology and Pharmacogenetics section is focused on the use of molecular and genetic tools to understand the mechanisms of drug exposure, response and toxicity and sources of variability in these measures. Molecular Pharmacology combines the disciplines of biochemistry, biophysics, genetics, molecular biology and pharmacology to elucidate the molecular mechanisms involved in drug action, toxicity, metabolism and transport. Pharmacogenetics addresses how genetic variation gives rise to variability in drug exposure, response and toxicity.
