NOMINEES FROM GOVERNMENT

SUGGESTIONS ON WHAT TO INCLUDE IN A LETTER OF NOMINATION

The following are suggestions only and not criteria

When drafting your letter of nomination for a nominee with a background in government consider incorporating the following information, activities, ideas, and examples in your letter of nomination:

  • Indicate the reason(s) you are nominating the person for the award.
  • Educational background including training programs, fellowships, and internships
  • Highlights of government accomplishments. Examples include:
    • Established policies that codified regulatory requirements for approval (ex. NDA regulations)
    • Developed/established policies for accelerated and/or pre-approval access to drugs for severe and/or life threatening diseases (eg. accelerated approval or expanded access regulations)
    • Established/developed regulatory policy on human subject protection/privacy in clinical research
  • Examples of working relationships established with academia and/or industry
  • Awards/recognition received.
  • Examples of leadership roles and activities.
  • Advisory and advocacy roles held.
  • Service and contributions to ASCPT
  • Broader service and contributions to the field of clinical pharmacology
