ASCPT Member of the Month
ASCPT is proud to recognize Scott A. Waldman, MD, PhD, FCP as Member of the Month for March. Dr. Waldman was recently named as Editor of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics and begins his term January 1, 2007. Dr. Waldman earned this recognition through his service and dedication to ASCPT. He is a valued member of ASCPT and we thank him for all he does for ASCPT. When asked why he supports ASCPT, Dr. Waldman said, "ASCPT is a leading multi-disciplinary organization establishing the national and international agenda for the broad discipline of clinical pharmacology and medical therapeutics. It sets the standard across the continuum of discovery, development, regulation, and utilization in human therapeutics. Also, it is on the vanguard promoting translation of technological advances in genomics and proteomics, cell- and gene-based therapies, and systems biology into the modalities of personalized and predictive medicine. Moreover, it provides a venue where professionals of diverse scientific disciplines from government, the private sector, and academia maximize cross-fertilization to ultimately advance therapeutic health care delivery. I am a sustaining supporter of ASCPT because it provides my professional identity within clinical pharmacology, the context within which I practice science and medicine, a voice in national and global health care issues, and the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues and friends. In that context, my personal and professional life would not be as enriched and diverse without this premier organization." Thank you Dr. Waldman!
