ASCPT Member of the Month
ASCPT is proud to recognize Julie A. Johnson, PharmD, Member of the Month for April. Dr. Johnson recently completed her term as Chair of the ASCPT Scientific Program Committee which culminated in an outstanding scientific program for the 2006 Annual Meeting in Baltimore. Dr. Johnson has been a member of ASCPT since 1992 and has served in a variety of leadership roles for ASCPT in addition to her work with the Scientific Program Committee, including abstract reviewer, and faculty for Annual Meeting workshops and symposia. She was also recognized at the 2006 Annual Meeting as the top membership recruiter for ASCPT. We thank Dr. Johnson for her valuable leadership in ASCPT and the discipline of clinical pharmacology. When asked why she supports ASCPT, Dr. Johnson said, "I have always looked to ASCPT as the top organization for clinical pharmacologists. It is particularly unique because of its multidisciplinary nature, where clinical pharmacologists from all educational backgrounds come together to share their knowledge and expertise. It provides an excellent forum to network outside your narrow sphere — be that a sphere that is defined by your area of clinical focus, work environment or background. As translational research gains additional focus at the national level, ASCPT and its members are poised to be leaders on this front." Thank you Dr. Johnson!
