ASCPT Member of the Month

Member of the Month: Dr. Candace Y.W. Lee
Candace Y.W. Lee, MD, PhD, FRCPC, FACC, FACP

The ASCPT Member of the Month is a forum to recognize and thank a member of ASCPT who has supported the Society's endeavors. Each month on its web site, ASCPT highlights one member who has gone above and beyond the call of duty! We also highlight the Member of the Month, along with two other members, in each issue of Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics. We hope you will enjoy learning about fellow members and as always, encourage your participation in Society events and activities.

ASCPT is proud to recognize Dr. Candace Y.W. Lee as the September Member of the Month.

Dr. Lee is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Departments of Medicine and Physiology at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in Rochester, MN. Since joining ASCPT in 2005, Dr. Lee has participated in many of the opportunities offered by the Society, including participating in the Mentorship Program, which she believes has "has played an instrumental role in my career development." Dr. Lee was awarded the 2007 Young Investigator Award for her proposal entitled, "Discovery and Development of Novel Designer Natriuretic Peptides for the Treatment of Heart Failure," which was selected as the best scientific proposal among a highly competitive group of clinical pharmacology trainees. Beyond her involvement in ASCPT, Dr. Lee has two pending patents and numerous publications. She is certified in five unique areas of medicine and licensed in the US and Canada. For Dr. Lee, the most exciting aspect of clinical pharmacology is in "drug discovery and development, as new discoveries may potentially revolutionalize treatment and improve patient care at a global level."

Thank you, Dr. Lee, for your valuable leadership and continued commitment to ASCPT and the discipline of clinical pharmacology!
