Jie Li, MD, MS

The ASCPT Member of the Month is a forum to recognize and thank a member of ASCPT who has supported the Society's endeavors. Each month on its web site, ASCPT highlights one member who has gone above and beyond the call of duty! We also highlight the Member of the Month, along with two other members, in each issue of Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics. We hope you will enjoy learning about fellow members and as always, encourage your participation in Society events and activities.

ASCPT is proud to recognize Dr. Jie Li as the February Member of the Month. 

Jie Li, MD, MS, is a Research Fellow at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. She first got involved with ASCPT after starting her fellowship at Vanderbilt.  The same year, she submitted her abstract entitled “Atrial Fibrillation: modulation of Statin and ACE inhibitors,” for which she was awarded the Presidential Trainee Award.

She has a very strong interest in clinical research and drug development in different phases, and ASCPT has provided her the opportunity to interact with research scientists, industry scientists and clinicians to exchange ideas about the future of research and clinical practice. Her medical training in anesthesia has always offered her the initial place to practice clinical pharmacology in a perioperative setting.

She sees clinical pharmacology as more than just understanding how the particular chemical compound  goes through human body, but as an attempt to cover the spectrum ‘from bench to bedside’ and ‘from molecules to man’ as clinicians try to understand the translational medicine. 

Through the course of her fellowship she has gained expertise in project management, clinical trial design and management, and biostatistics, data management and analysis.
