SPEED MENTORING
THURSDAY, MARCH 14, 2019 at 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM
Plan to attend the very popular and often sold-out Speed Mentoring event.  ASCPT recognizes that all members, regardless of career stage, have a unique perspective to share, and all members can benefit from peer-to-peer learning opportunities. Pre-registration for this session is required if you’d like to be a mentee; you do not need to register if you’d like to serve in the mentor role. This event is a one-off opportunity for 1:1 consultation with other members. There are no conditions to serving in either role, and both experiences are sure to be rewarding!

If you are interested in being a mentor, please contact meetings@ascpt.org.

Career Development Special Sessions:
  • Clinical Pharmacology Workforce Skills and Networking: Postdoctoral Fellow/Trainee Career Path Exploration
  • Career Exploration and Transition Beyond Traditional Roles
  • Snake Pit: Grant Me the Money!

Thanks to the generosity of ASCPT donors, ASCPT is able to offer a limited number of Student/Trainee travel grants for the ASCPT 2019 Annual Meeting in Washington, DC (March 13-16, 2019).

The amount of the grant is $500 towards travel costs.  Receiving this grant is contingent on attending the Annual Meeting. The recipients will receive a check in this amount following the meeting.

Please complete the application in order to be considered for the grant.  The deadline for applications is Monday, January 7, 2019.

In order to be eligible for this grant you must be a current member of ASCPT and you must be presenting an abstract at the Annual Meeting.

Presidential Trainee award recipients are not eligible for this grant

*Please note that previous recipients of the grant are still eligible, however, priority consideration will be given to those who have not received a grant in past years.

We look forward to seeing you at the ASCPT 2019 Annual Meeting! ASCPT recognizes that in some cases, you may need to justify the expense and time away from work in order to obtain approval from your employer or institution to attend. Here are some tools and resources to help you obtain approval.

General Tips for Justifying Attendance:
  • Quantify the Benefits: Be specific about how you will network, what you can discover in the exhibit hall and which sessions are most suitable for growth in your area. Present the benefits of attending.
  • Demonstrate the return on investment by focusing on what you will gain and the benefits you bring back.
  • Offer to deliver a short presentation to your colleagues so you can share what you learned.
  • Be ready with a plan for staff coverage while you are attending.
  • Reduce your housing expenses by sharing a hotel room.
  • Check out the registration page for the various rates and discounts available for ASCPT members and students/trainees.
