Title: Soft Skills Needed to Improve Communication and Influence People: Changing Minds from “All Models are Wrong” to “Some are Useful"
Date and Time: Thursday, July 18, 2019, 1:00 pm ET
Speaker: Stacey Tannenbaum
Moderator: Virginia (Ginny) Schmith
Description: Presenting clinical pharmacology data and modeling results to interdisciplinary teams in a clear and concise manner is extremely important to ensure that your research can influence clinical drug development or clinical therapeutics. The issue is that many times the impact of modeling and simulation may be difficult for interdisciplinary scientists to understand or interpret because they come to the table with differences in backgrounds and opinions. This webinar will address what you can do differently before, during, and after your modeling work to influence people and avoid critics ignoring your work. These skills are critical to teach trainees and should be continuously nurtured in both emerging and established scientists in order for Pharmacometrics to truly impact drug development decisions going forward.
