Special ASCPT News: 2020 Registration Fee Update from President Susan Abdel-Rahman

Dear Colleagues, 

In recent weeks, ASCPT staff and leadership have been working tirelessly to resolve issues surrounding the unprecedented cancellation of the 2020 Annual Meeting and to maintain the fiscal health of the organization. However, doing right by our members and registrants remains our highest priority. Accordingly, ASCPT will be offering three options for 2020 Annual Meeting registration fees:
  1. ASCPT will issue a credit toward registration for the 2021 Annual Meeting.
  2. ASCPT will issue a full refund via the original payment method.
  3. Your 2020 Annual Meeting registration fee can be donated to the Society.*
We hope that many of you will consider opting for a credit toward the 2021 Annual Meeting. As a bonus to those who elect to do so, you will not be responsible for any difference in registration fees between 2020 and 2021. 

If you are selecting a refund, please be aware that processing refunds is a big undertaking, both on staff time and in processing fees so we ask for your patience. Most credit card refunds should be completed within 10 days; however, checks may take a bit longer. You should also be aware that while we will attempt to refund to the original payment method used, the credit card processor (authorize.net) only retains your credit card payment information for 90 days. If your original payment falls outside this window, a refund by check will be necessary. Therefore, if you select a refund for your registration fees, you may be asked to confirm a mailing address that can be used for this purpose.

All registrants have until June 30, 2020 to advise us on how we should proceed on their behalf. The Society will be unable to consider any requests received after this date.

For those of you who have already asked that their registration fees be converted to donations, thank you! If you haven't but are in the position to do so, please consider this option.*

Next week ASCPT will work with our registration vendor, eventPower, to send all registrants an email detailing the process for making your selection of refund, credit, or donation. Please watch for this message and ensure that you respond by June 30, 2020.

We understand that there will be many questions about registration fees. Please review our FAQ document prior to submitting your request. If you have additional questions regarding registration refunds, please contact meetings@ascpt.org.
