Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics No Longer Charges Submission Fees
Good news for
Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics (
CPT) authors: the journal no longer collects submission fees! Fees had been $50 for ASCPT members and $100 for non-member authors.
As the publishing landscape changes, Open Access publication becomes increasingly common, and as publishers (including Wiley, ASCPT’s publishing partner) enter into ever more “
transformational agreements” with institutions worldwide, journals across the industry are embracing a new business model.
In transformational agreements, a consortium or institution partners with a publisher to enable a large-scale transition towards Open Access. Transformational agreements allow researchers unlimited access to read a portfolio of journals, plus funding to cover article publication charges (APCs) when choosing to publish Open Access. While these agreements cover APCs, they do not usually cover submission fees, leaving those charges to authors.
CPT wants authors who are covered by these agreements to be able to publish in the journal with no additional charge and has accordingly ceased collecting submission fees for
ALL submissions.
Is your institution covered by a transformational agreement? If so, you could now publish in any of the ASCPT journals free of charge! New transformational agreements are being signed monthly, and Wiley keeps an updated list of agreements
here.
Wiley has also partnered with Research4Life to offer APC waivers and discounts to authors from
select low and middle income countries. As with transformational agreements, this covers APCs, but not submission fees. In line with ASCPT’s commitment to equity, ASCPT does not want the submission fee to be a barrier to publishing for authors from any of these nations, and we are pleased that these authors will be able to submit to and publish in
CPT with no added burden of cost.
