Who has inspired you in your career?
It is not just one single person who has inspired me. I am grateful for the influence of everyone I work with and interact with, as they each contribute to my personal and professional growth with their unique perspectives. Their kindness has provided me with a clearer and more comprehensive understanding of career development.
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
To date, the achievement that fills me with the greatest sense of pride is being acknowledged as the communication co-lead of the Oncology Community. Furthermore, I was elected as co-vice chair for the upcoming term. It is a tremendous honor and brings me great joy to collaborate with such exceptional clinical pharmacologists here. I am deeply impressed by their remarkable level of professionalism, and I am sincerely grateful for the invaluable opportunity to learn from them. Additionally, I am being encouraged to foster connections with other groups and societies, with the aim of creating mutual value.
Why did you decide to join ASCPT?
More and more new clinical pharmacologists emerge accompanied by the emerging drug development wave in China, but many of us are confused by what contribution clinical pharmacology can make in drug development and what hot topics are being discussed on the global level. This curiosity drove me to join ASCPT and to work with and learn from other members. I hope what I learn as a member can also benefit other clinical pharmacologists in China – and promote the Society there.
If you had not chosen your present career, what would you be doing?
I think if I wasn't a clinical pharmacologist I would like to be a policeman. I like to link different information from different sources to the same point and investigate the answer to a question or mystery.
How do you keep focused and motivated?
The work we are engaged in holds immense significance for numerous families. I have witnessed numerous instances where the illness of a single individual can have a devastating impact on an entire family. By providing timely access to transformative drugs, we have the potential to safeguard these families from such hardships.
