What does being a 2024 Presidential Trainee mean to you?
This is the first conference award I have ever received. It makes me realize that what I am currently doing can be recognized as important and meaningful work, which really encourages me. I will definitely bring the inspiration from this award to my future work.
What was your favorite part about attending the Annual Meeting?
I have two favorite parts, which are the AI pre-conference and the poster session. In the pre-conference, I learned state-of-the-art knowledge in applying the powerful AI tool to the current drug development process, and it was also a great opportunity to meet and network with people who share the same interest with you. Meanwhile, it is also my first time presenting a poster at a conference, and I am really excited when receiving feedback from experts from industry and academia, which really makes my work better.
Who has inspired you in your career?
The person who inspired me is my advisor, Dr. Robert Bies. He gave me the first lesson in PopPK modeling and provided me with a lot of opportunities and practice in different areas. I got chances to practice traditional PBPK and PopPK models as well as the application of machine learning, which enabled me to get a sense of what I am really interested in.
When you are not working, how do you spend your free time?
I will randomly pick one of my hobbies and spend time on it. For example, during the winter, I may go snowboarding with my friends, during the summer I may practice Brazilian jiu-jitsu, or I might play the piano at home.
