What was your favorite part about attending the Annual Meeting?
I like that the Annual Meeting brings the opportunity to go beyond the formal scientific sessions. I enjoyed talking to the person behind the posters or presentations and getting to know their academic or professional journey and more! I think engaging in hallway conversations and networking often proves to be very valuable. These engagements facilitate the sharing of ideas, the establishment of fresh professional connections, and opportunities to delve into groundbreaking research in a relaxed environment.

Why did you submit an abstract for the ASCPT 2024 Annual Meeting?
I submitted an abstract for the ASCPT 2024 Annual Meeting to share my work with peers and colleagues in clinical pharmacology and get feedback from them. The ASCPT Meeting is the platform that brings together brilliant minds from academia and industry to discuss cutting-edge trends in drug discovery, development, and clinical pharmacology.

Who has inspired you in your career?
Many people have inspired me, but the greatest inspiration has been from two distinguished professors from the University of Florida during my graduate study days which led me to choose this career path and made me a better professional: (1) my graduate supervisor Dr. Guenther Houcchaus who is a world-renowned scientist in pharmacometrics and clinical pharmacology. His mentorship has made me a confident and independent scientist. Also (2) my graduate committee member, a great pioneer in the field of pharmacokinetics and pharmacometrics, the late Dr. Hartmut Derendorf, whose kindness and polite manners have inspired me deeply. I could sit for hours and hours listening to his lectures.

When you are not working, how do you spend your free time?
I like to spend time with my daughter or volunteer for my community.

What was your childhood dream job?
As a child, I wanted to be a truck driver. I found it so exciting and thrilling.

What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
One thing people would be surprised to know about me is that I travel with my instant pot because of not being able to find Halal food whenever I am traveling to cities where there are not a lot of Muslims and when Halal food stores are not near the place where I am lodging.

Dr. Zaidi has been a member of ASCPT since 2023.
