What is the Most Important Leadership Lesson You Have Learned the Hard Way?
I have learned to trust my team and delegate tasks. I have capable, intelligent, and hard-working people around me. We have a common goal and we each have skills that contribute to meeting that goal. I have learned that by taking a step back, encouraging their independence, and supporting them along the way we can get a lot more done than if I were to do the task myself.
Who Has Inspired You in Your Career?
My grandmother has been an inspiration. Helping her deal with her chronic illnesses inspired my career in pharmacy.
When You Aren’t Working, How Do You Spend Your Free Time?
I paint and collect artwork. I also exercise daily and practice yoga and pilates. These things help me manage stress.
What’s the One Thing People Would Be Surprised to Know About You?
I have a collection of mugs from all the places I’ve traveled. Some I have made, some are just odd shapes and figures that intrigued me, and some are simply dedicated to the location I was at at the time.
