CALL FOR PAPERS
Clinical and Translational Science is inviting submissions for a special collection dedicated to evaluating the impact of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) on advancing clinical pharmacology. We consider age, race, sexual orientation, genders, abilities, disabilities, protected classes, religions, cultures and other protected classes as meeting our definition of DEI.
We welcome original research articles, reviews, perspectives, conference proceedings, and opinion pieces that explore or contribute to the knowledge base of DEI issues in clinical pharmacology, including but not limited to:
- Representation and Participation: Studies investigating the representation of/or primary inclusion of participants from underrepresented groups in clinical pharmacology research.
- Workforce Diversity and Inclusion: Strategies for promoting diversity and inclusion in clinical pharmacology education, training, mentorship, leadership, and professional development.
- Ethical and Social Implications: Discussions on ethical considerations, social determinants of health, and societal implications of clinical pharmacological research, policies, and practices on diverse populations.
- Inclusive Research Practices: Guidance on inclusive research design, recruitment strategies, data collection methods, and reporting standards to ensure the representation and inclusion of diverse populations in clinical studies.
- Original Research Focused on Diverse Populations: Inclusive clinical research on diverse populations including clinical pharmacology clinical studies in pediatrics and pharmacogenetics research in special populations or under-represented geographies.
Manuscripts will undergo rigorous peer review by experts in the field. Accepted articles will be published in a special collection on DEI in clinical pharmacology. Please submit your manuscripts through our online submission system, and please note in your cover letter that they are intended for the special collection on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
We look forward to receiving your contributions and collaborating with you to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in clinical pharmacology.
