What does being a 2025 Presidential Trainee mean to you?
Being named a 2025 ASCPT Presidential Trainee validates years of dedication in the lab, the clinic, and the classroom and affirms that my dedication and contributions to the field have been meaningful. It is an honor to be part of a community that supports students and fosters collaboration among trainees and seasoned professionals. I am excited to engage with this network and to continue to contribute to innovation in clinical pharmacology.

Who has inspired you in your career?
Dr Stephani Stancil has inspired me through her tireless work ethic, passion for mentorship, and compassionate patient care. Her guidance has been instrumental in shaping my approach to research and clinical care.

How do you keep focused and motivated?
I keep focused and motivated by focusing on my ultimate goal of becoming a pediatric intensivist and advancing care for each child I treat. Knowing that my research today can translate into better bedside interventions tomorrow keeps me moving forward.

What was your childhood dream job?
Since I was a child, I have aspired to become a physician. This role combines my passion for science with a commitment to helping others in their time of need.

John has been a member of ASCPT since 2022.
