When longtime CEO Sharon Swan announced her intent to retire earlier this year, the ASCPT Board of Directors named a Search Committee who has since been actively engaged in efforts to identify the Society’s next CEO. The Search Committee is Chaired by ASCPT President-Elect, Walter Kraft, MD, Thomas Jefferson University. Joining Walter on the Search Committee is Kellie Schoolar Reynolds, PharmD, US Food and Drug Administration, Mohamed Shahin, PharmD, Pfizer, Elvin Price, PharmD, Virginia Commonwealth University, Paulien Ravenstijn, PhD, Affimed, and the Society’s COO, Elise Laffman-Johnson. The Board also engaged the search firm Vetted Solutions.
We’ve now completed phase one of the search process, gathering input from key stakeholders including Board members, Network and Community leaders, journal leadership, and staff. This input was synthesized into a position description that outlines what we are looking for in our next CEO. The position description has now been posted
and we are actively marketing the position to attract potential candidates from high performing association leaders.
Vetted Solutions, working in tandem with the Search Committee and with oversight from the Board, will now begin the active recruiting phase. This critical phase of the search involves recruiting and developing a candidate slate, followed by several rounds of interviews and a recommendation to the Board for final selection, with a final decision announced to the membership thereafter. In parallel, the Board and Executive Committee continue to formulate a transition plan to ensure the success of the incoming executive.
