May 2025

Adviser 1: Research!America Letter   ASCPT Joins Coalition Letter to Congress Regarding HHS Personnel Reductions From Abigail W. Gorman, MBA, Chief Executive Officer
ASCPT has joined a broad coalition of scientific organizations urging Congress to demand transparency regarding potential large-scale personnel reductions within federal agencies critical to the US scientific enterprise and public health infrastructure. The letter emphasizes the potential for these opaque actions to undermine vital research, disrupt essential public health functions, and jeopardize the scientific workforce pipeline, directly impacting the work of our members. By advocating for public release of these plans and expert consultation, ASCPT is working to ensure the stability and effectiveness of the agencies that support and regulate our field. This action underscores ASCPT's commitment to a robust scientific ecosystem and the well-being of the scientific community.
