What was your favorite part of attending the Annual Meeting?
As a trainee and first-time participant of the Annual Meeting, I really enjoyed being able to meet and interact with individuals whose perspectives and endeavors inspire my own. Everyone I met was open and willing to share their advice and paths to personal and professional success. I was also happy to have been able to catch up with long-time mentors and friends in pharmacy and research.
Who has inspired you in your career?
I am very grateful for my mentors in pharmacy school who encouraged my pursuit of further studies in research, both directly and through witnessing their own passions and accomplishments in the clinical pharmacology field. I have been particularly inspired by my brilliant friend and colleague Andrew Haddad, a current graduate student at the University of Pittsburgh, and my former professor and research mentor Dr. Raman Venkataramanan, whose life lessons continue to reside with me today.
When you are not working, how do you spend your free time?
I love kickboxing and weightlifting in the evenings as a way to decompress from the day. Because the weather is often beautiful in the Bay Area, on weekends I will spend time relaxing in the park, hiking, or running along the San Francisco Bay. I am an avid reader and find joy in immersing myself in different literary worlds.
How do you keep focused and motivated?
My research is very meaningful and fulfilling to me, given its impact on global health. This motivates me to continue putting my best efforts into this work. Additionally, expressing gratitude each day for the opportunities and support I have allows me to stay dedicated, even when tasks become particularly daunting.
