What does being a 2024 Presidential Trainee mean to you?
As a trainee and an early career clinician/researcher, getting early validation of ideas is very helpful. Being a 2024 Presidential Trainee gives me reassurance that my research and aims have merit and that I am on the right track.

What was your favorite part about attending the Annual Meeting?
My favorite part about the Annual Meeting is meeting other trainees/members who are at a similar career stage as I am. I saw several great projects from my peers and have ideas for future collaborations.

When you are not working, how do you spend your free time?
I really love the culinary arts; in a different life, I would be a chef. I spend a lot of my free time baking or taking advantage of the amazing food scene in Chicago.

How do you stay focused and motivated?
Having both long-term and short-term goals not only helps you see the forest for the trees, but it also breaks the work into manageable bite-sized pieces. I also recommend the Pomodoro method for staying focused on tasks like writing. The Pomodoro technique uses fixed time intervals for work followed by short breaks – making the tasks seem more manageable and keeping the mind more alert.
