What does being the Rare Diseases (RD) Community Vice Chair mean to you?
To me, it is an immense opportunity to bring together and work with the experts in the field to enhance and streamline the clinical pharmacology of rare disease drug development. I am very grateful to be in this position to make tangible contributions that can make a significant impact on patients' lives.
What is the most important leadership lesson you have learned the hard way?
It is important to build teams of trustworthy team players rather than focusing solely on high performance.
What is your favorite society memory?
ASCPT Annual Meetings are always memorable. It is a very special occasion for me to be able to participate in cutting-edge science and interact with brilliant scientists. And it's always great to see friends and socialize.
How do you keep focused and motivated?
Constant prioritization of my things-to-do helps me focus on urgent and important tasks. Small wins, staying positive, and constantly reminding myself of the “bigger picture” keeps me motivated.
What was your childhood dream job?
I wanted to be a locomotive engineer.
