What was your childhood dream job?
For as long as I can remember I have always wanted to become a doctor. According to my parents this is something that I have echoed since I was four years old. As I got older, this dream was so entrenched in me that I could not see myself doing any other job. So, I can safely say that I am in my dream job.

Do you have a favorite tip or trick for clinical practice or research that you want to share with fellow members?
Practicing medicine and even doing research is teamwork. What we can achieve together is much greater than what we can achieve alone. So, be open to discussions and hearing other perspectives. This is how we learn, and this is how we challenge our thoughts and perspectives to better ourselves and to be better at what we do.

What are you looking forward to in your time as part of the Low and Middle Income Country Accelerator Cohort?
I am looking forward to meeting new people, creating more networks, and forming new collaborations to enhance my current work and to develop my career further. I see this opportunity as a great opportunity to create strong north–south collaborations. I am looking forward to learning new pearls that can strengthen my clinical pharmacology and pharmacometrics skills to better impact clinical care.

How do you keep focused and motivated?
My passion for medicine and the need to improve patient care keeps me focused and motivated. The fact that I am trusted by someone to be part of, and to contribute to getting them back to health, is a privilege and is enough to make you want to give off your best as a clinician and as a researcher.

Veshni has been a member of ASCPT since 2023.
