CALL FOR PAPERS
Clinical and Translational Science (CTS) is pleased to announce a special themed collection focused on the essential and rapidly expanding role of translational science in advancing precision medicine. This collection will highlight innovative scientific, methodological, and implementation approaches that enable more individualized, predictive, and effective healthcare.
Background
As we celebrate the 10-year anniversary of CTS being published under the banner and leadership of ASCPT, we want to acknowledge and celebrate the central role of precision medicine in translational science.
Precision medicine aspires to deliver the right intervention to the right patient at the right time, yet achieving this vision requires robust translational frameworks that bridge discoveries from bench to bedside—and back again. Translational science provides the methods, tools, and operational strategies needed to accelerate this journey.
Advances in areas such as biomarker science, multi-omics integration, patient stratification, adaptive trial design, digital health technologies, clinical implementation strategies, and real-world data analytics are opening new frontiers for individualized care. These advances require cross-disciplinary collaboration and rigorous translational principles—themes that CTS seeks to spotlight through this special issue.
As national and global biomedical initiatives increasingly emphasize precision health, the translational science community plays a pivotal role in ensuring these innovations are scientifically grounded, equitable, reproducible, and meaningfully impactful for patients.
Scope
CTS invites high-quality submissions that contribute to the science, practice, and advancement of precision medicine through translational research. Submissions may address conceptual, methodological, experimental, clinical, regulatory, or implementation-focused aspects of translational science.
We welcome:
- Original research articles
- Brief reports
- Reviews and mini-reviews
- Tutorials and methods papers
- Perspectives, commentaries, and position papers
Topics of Interest
Topics may include, but are not limited to:
- Translational Approaches Enabling Precision Medicine: multiple omics integration, biomarker discovery, and system-based model building.
- Tools, Technologies, and Methodological Innovations: artificial intelligence and machine learning, data harmonization tools, digital health technologies, remote monitoring tools, and assay development for diagnosis and point of care.
- Clinical Translation and Implementation: trial methods, real-world evidence-based individualized therapeutic strategies, and health equity in precision medicine and implementation science.
