What does being a 2024 presidential trainee mean to you?
Being named a 2024 Presidential Trainee was a pivotal moment for me, as it directly connects me with a network of top-tier researchers and scientists, significantly enhancing my ability to learn and develop my research skills through cutting-edge projects.

What was your favorite part about attending the annual meeting?
My favorite part of attending the Annual Meeting was the incredible opportunity to connect with fellow professionals and thought leaders from around the world. Engaging in discussions about the latest research and trends provided invaluable insights and inspired new ideas for my own work.

Why did you submit an abstract for the ASCPT 2024 Annual Meeting?
I submitted an abstract for the ASCPT 2024 Annual Meeting because my research involving EWAS DNA methylation in MRONJ has novel associations that may elucidate the underlying mechanisms of the condition.

What is the most important leadership lesson you have learned the hard way?
The most important leadership lesson I have learned the hard way is the critical role of effective communication. In the past, I underestimated how crucial communication is for connecting with the research community. I have come to realize that clear and consistent communication not only fosters collaboration and knowledge-sharing but also strengthens relationships and builds trust within the research community. This lesson has taught me to prioritize communication efforts, ensuring that I engage with the research community proactively and transparently to maximize impact and drive meaningful progress in my field.

Dr. Alshammari has been a member of ASCPT since 2023.
