Why does being a 2025 Presidential Trainee mean to you?
Being selected as a 2025 Presidential Trainee is an incredible honor that validates my dedication to translational science and clinical pharmacology. It offers a unique platform to connect with leaders in the field, reinforcing my commitment to advancing model-informed drug development.
What professional accomplishment are you most proud of?
I am most proud of my contributions to pharmacometrics modeling that informed dose optimization strategies in early-phase clinical trials. These efforts have supported more precise and individualized therapies, especially in oncology and infectious disease treatment paradigms.
Who has inspired you in your career?
Throughout my academic journey, I have been fortunate to work with mentors who have shaped my approach to science and leadership. Most recently, my postdoctoral advisor has been a strong influence, encouraging critical thinking, collaboration and the pursuit of translational impact through pharmacometrics research.
What has been the greatest challenge in your career?
Transitioning from industry to academia and navigating the US research ecosystem as an international scholar was challenging. However, it also provided me with a broader perspective on global drug development strategies and the value of interdisciplinary approaches.
How do you keep focused and motivated?
I stay motivated by aligning my work with a clear sense of purpose – improving therapeutic outcomes through data-driven science. Engaging with students and contributing to collaborative research keeps me energized and focused.
