What is your favorite part of being part of the LMIC Accelerator Cohort?
Being part of the LMIC Accelerator Cohort offers a unique platform to collaborate with professionals who understand the contextual challenges of low- and middle-income countries. I particularly value the exchange of ideas, meeting diverse experts, and learning directly from the initiatives and expertise within ASCPT. These interactions help translate global best practices into region-specific, scalable clinical pharmacology solutions that are both locally relevant and globally impactful.

What was the best thing about attending the ASCPT 2026 Annual Meeting?
The best part of attending the ASCPT 2026 Annual Meeting was the opportunity for meaningful networking and direct interaction with leadership and fellow members of ASCPT. Engaging with global experts, senior leaders, and peers in clinical pharmacology created valuable conversations that extended beyond formal sessions. These interactions not only strengthened professional connections but also opened avenues for future collaborations and mentorship, making the experience both impactful and inspiring.

Why did you become a member of ASCPT?
I joined ASCPT to engage with a global network advancing precision medicine and clinical pharmacology. It aligns closely with my work in patient-centered care and evidence-based medicine.

What is the most important leadership lesson you have learned the hard way?
Leadership is not about control – it is about enabling others. Early on, I learned that sustainable impact comes from empowering teams, trusting their capabilities, and creating an environment where innovation can thrive.

Who has inspired you in your career?
I have been inspired by mentors who combined scientific rigor with compassion in patient care. Additionally, global leaders in clinical pharmacy and public health have influenced my approach to integrating research with real-world impact.

What has been the greatest challenge in your career?
Balancing academic responsibilities, research productivity, and leadership roles simultaneously has been challenging. However, it has also helped me develop resilience, prioritization skills, and a system-thinking approach.

Dr. Devanandan has been a member of ASCPT since 2025.
