Responsibilities 

• Oversees the Society’s financial activities.
• Serves as chair of the Finance Committee and, as such, reviews and monitors the Society’s investments and annual budget.

Duties, in addition to those of serving on the Governing Board and Executive Council

• As the chief financial volunteer, serves as a member of the Governing Board and the Executive Council and attends all their meetings.
• Chairs Finance Committee to work with CEO to prepare and monitor annual budget and financial policies, as well as to monitor performance of investment manager.
• Works with CEO to ensure that the Finance Committee and Governing Board fulfill their fiduciary responsibility for the Society and that resulting board actions are recorded and implemented.
• Ensures that the Society maintains accurate financial records and appropriate financial policies.
• Reviews financial reports on a regular basis to monitor fiscal activity, presenting them to the Governing Board.
• Reviews the Society’s annual audit review of financial activities and positions with the Finance Committee and ensures that it is presented to the Governing Board for their review and approval, answering leaders’ and members’ questions.
• Maintains the current copies of the Society’s Bylaws and ensures that they are followed, referring issues to the Bylaws Committee when and as necessary.
• Acts as one of the two signatories on the investment accounts.
• Works with members of the Finance committee to develop potential new Treasurer candidates for the future.
• Reviews the Society's 990 tax return with the CEO.
• Performs other duties as assigned to the position by the President.
• Complete annual COI disclosure.
