COVID Dominated ASCPT’s Family of Journals in 2021
It comes as no surprise that COVID-19 papers were among the most highly cited and downloaded papers of 2021 and also garnered high altmetric scores

Ueda et al.’s “Japan’s Drug Regulation During the COVID‐19 Pandemic: Lessons From a Case Study of Favipiravir” was Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics’ (CPT) most highly downloaded paper published in 2021, and Du & Chen’s “Favipiravir: Pharmaokinetics and Concerns About Clinical Trials for 2019-nCoV Infection” was last year’s most highly cited paper. Highest altmetric score went to Gerard et al.’s COVID-19 focused paper, “Remdesivir and Acute Renal Failure: A Potential Safety Signal From Disproportionality Analysis of the WHO Safety Database.”

While COVID did not feature as heavily in the top papers for Clinical and Translational Science (CTS) and CPT: Pharmacometrics & Systems Pharmacology (PSP), it was still heavily cited, downloaded, and shared online. “COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy: Race/ethnicity, trust, and fear” by Willis et al. was CTS’ most downloaded paper that published in 2021, and “Clinical and Autoimmune Characteristics of Severe and Critical Cases of COVID-19” by Zhou et al. was the most highly-cited while Hawila & Berg’s “Assessing the impact of COVID‐19 on registered interventional clinical trials” earned 2021’s third-highest altmetric score for the Journal. COVID-19 articles of interest for PSP included “Timing of Antiviral Treatment Initiation Is Critical to Reduce SARS-CoV-2 Viral Load” by Gonçalves et al. (most highly-cited) and Giorgi et al.’s “Application of quantitative systems pharmacology to guide the optimal dosing of COVID‐19 vaccines” (second highest altmetric score).

Don’t forget that all of the ASCPT Family of Journals’ published COVID-19 research is free to access and gathered in one joint-journal collection
