ASCPT Joins Leading Scientific Societies in Affirming the Critical Role of Vaccines
From Abigail W. Gorman, MBA, Chief Executive Officer
ASCPT is proud to stand alongside more than 30 other leading scientific and medical organizations in issuing a unified statement reaffirming the importance of vaccines in protecting public health.
With rising misinformation and declining public trust in science contributing to outbreaks of preventable diseases, this coalition, led by the American Association of Immunology and the American College of Physicians, emphasizes the urgent need for accurate, evidence-based information. Vaccines, backed by decades of rigorous research and clinical trials, remain one of the most effective tools in preventing serious illness and saving lives. ASCPT Statement of Support
The mass layoffs at key US federal health agencies, including the National Institutes of Health, Food and Drug Administration, and the Centers for Disease Control, are deeply concerning for our members and the broader scientific and public health community. These agencies play a crucial role in advancing research, ensuring patient safety, and protecting public health. ASCPT stands in support of those impacted. Our commitment to fostering scientific and medical progress remains steadfast.
