What is your favorite part of being the Global Health (GH) Community Vice Chair?
What I enjoy most about being the GH Community Vice Chair is meeting and connecting with people from all over the world. I was invited to take on this role after my participation in the ASCPT 2024 Annual Meeting, where I received the first LMIC travel grant. I really believe that if we want to talk about global health, we need to include everyone. That is why this is my favorite part, because I have a connection with many people, and it feels good to be part of something that is working to make the Society more inclusive and representative.
What is your favorite Society memory?
My favorite memory is from my first time attending the ASCPT 2024 Annual Meeting in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I was really impressed by how welcoming and friendly everyone was. It made me feel like I truly belonged, and it showed me how strong and supportive this community can be.
When you are not working, how do you spend your free time?
In my free time, I love being with my family, hanging out with friends, and spending time with my cats. I also enjoy reading, and I like doing crafts. It is a great way to relax and express myself creatively.
How do you keep focused and motivated?
To stay focused, I try to always think ahead and remind myself why I am doing something. I know that I will not always love every task, but I believe that everything should have a purpose. When I understand the meaning behind what I am doing, it helps me stay motivated and give my best.
Bruna has been a member of ASCPT since 2024.
